CBCT scans can be used to diagnose and treat a wide range of dental conditions including dental infections, fractured teeth, oral pathology and several other conditions. CBCT scans are also used prior to or during root canal treatments, extractions, implant placements, sinus lifts and several other procedures to ensure the treatment is performed with a very high level of precision and accuracy.
Our dental team uses an advanced digital scanner to examine your mouth and capture detailed 3D images of your oral structures. These images are used in creating impressions, designing your restorations and ensuring that your treatments meet your exact needs.
Digital impressions have some advantages over traditional ones. Traditional impressions involve a material that is often messy, inconvenient, and uncomfortable. Our digital scanner helps patients with strong gag reflex who do not tolerate traditional impressions well. When taking digital impressions, an intraoral camera takes hundreds of pictures of your mouth, all while you watch on a chairside monitor. Our software then pieces together these images to create a highly accurate, three-dimensional representation of your teeth and gums. The entire process takes anywhere from 45 seconds to a minute and a half!
X-rays are an essential part of a thorough dental examination. They show our dental team areas of concern that aren’t visible to the naked eye. Digital X-rays improve the process by being faster, safer, and more comfortable. Best of all, they significantly reduce the amount of radiation you’re exposed to, so you can rest easy knowing that your long-term health is protected.

By taking the intra-oral photos, we are able to show you what we see and let you know your best treatment options. Intra-oral photos are also helpful to our hygienists. They are able to show you what they see, especially if they find an area of your mouth where there is a larger amount of tartar. This may indicate that you need to brush or floss more in one area of your mouth. Your hygienist will use intra-oral photos they have taken to help you maximize your home care.
